Micropigmentation tattoos are semi-permanent which means that while they won’t wash away easily, they will only last around 1 to 2 years before a reapplicationbecomes necessary. It is recommended not to get the eyebrow area wet for a couple of days after the procedure to ensure that the ink has a chance to settle and that it remains for longer.
After your first treatment you will be invited back within 30 to 60 days.
This visit is for a touch up treatment after your first treatment has healed any corrections needed will be done on this day.
PERMANENT COSMETIC AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Proper care following your procedure is necessary to achieve the best results. Keep in mind that in many cases, some unevenness of colour is to be expected. This is the purpose of the re-touch visit. Please review the following directions and refer to them as necessary. If during the healing process you have any questions or concerns, please contact your technician.
For the first day:
O Ice packs protected with a cloth may be applied as necessary to reduce swelling.
O If you suffer with cold sores at present or anytime in the past use an anti-herpes medication for example Zovirax, five times daily. Continue use for the next 6 days ( Lips Only )
You may experience the following for 72 hours:
o Flaking.
o Tenderness.
o Dryness and itchiness in the treated area.
o Swelling and redness.
o Eyelashes may stick together, particularly overnight. ( Eyeliner Only )
o Puffy eyelids. ( Eyeliner Only )
o Bruising around the eyes. ( Eyeliner Only )
Daily Care to follow for at least one week until your procedure has fully healed:
O Always wash your hands before applying the aftercare healing balm. Apply a minimum of 3 times daily, using a cotton bud
O Prevent cross-contamination of your healing balm by using a clean cotton bud for each application.
O We recommend you use a gentle facial cleanser to clean the face during the healing period.
O Keep hair away from the treated site to prevent any infection.
O Some itching is normal. DO NOT PICK, PEEL OR SCRATCH the treated area or the colour may heal unevenly and you risk scarring and infection. Allow the wound to flake on its own.
O No makeup should be applied for 72 hours after the procedure.
O Do not expose the healing skin to direct sun, tanning beds, Jacuzzis, saunas, salt water, chlorinated pools, direct shower spray, hot water, skin creams or ointments other than what you have been instructed to use for two weeks following your procedure.
O If the area gets wet, gently pat dry using clean tissue. ( Eyebrows and Liner )
O Remember, your selected colour will be stronger and more sharply defined immediately after treatment but as the healing process occurs the colour will soften and lighten.
O No kissing and if the area gets wet, gently pat dry using clean tissue. ( Lips Only )
O Avoid eating spicy and salty foods and try to drink through a straw. ( Lips Only )
O Do not pick the epithelial crust. Allow it to flake on its own. ( Lips Only )
Long Term Care
O Use a good sunscreen. Sun exposure will fade your permanent cosmetics.
O If you are planning a chemical peel, MRI scan or other medical procedure, please inform your doctor of your permanent cosmetics.
O Please inform the National Blood Service if you donate blood, as you may not be eligible to give blood for a year post procedure.
